Lower Eyelid Surgery Information Fort Myers

Lower eyelid surgery can offer dramatic results for patients.  Our practice specializes in an approach called the transconjunctival lower eyelid blepharoplasty.  This approach does not use an external incision, rather an internal incision is made, fatty pockets are removed and contoured, and a chemical peel is applied to the external skin of the lower eyelid to remove fine lines and tighten the skin.

The advantage of this approach is that there is no external incision and no stitches, so there is no scar to worry about.  Additionally, because it is rare that lower eyelid skin is removed during this procedure, we avoid complications such as incomplete lid closure.  Lower eyelid blepharoplasty is not covered by insurance as it is considered a cosmetic surgery, but the benefits of a youthful, refreshed you are worth it!
